As well as running his own band Gareth also plays in numerous
other bands, teaches jazz trombone at the Royal Welsh
College Of Music and Drama and works as musical director of Monmouth Big Band.
In the last year he has also started a new project consisting of just himself, a trombone, a euphonium and a loop station called "Gareth and the Machine". Three successful gigs so far and hopefully more to follow. Watch this space!
"I can only be thankful that young players like these ones still exist, people capable of writing music that's at one and the same time respectful of the tradition, accessible and gifted with virtuosity"

"Nimble and inventive he seems to bring out the best in the instrument, from gutbucket slides and rasps on the up tempo material to a surprising tenderness on ballads.”
- Ian Mann - www.thejazzmann.com
"I'm truly grateful that there are still young musicians like these, who possess the rare ability to create music that not only pays homage to tradition but also remains approachable and showcases remarkable virtuosity."
